Ilkeston RUFC have announced a number of changes to their youth structure ahead of the upcoming 2012/2013 season.

The club is forming a new Colts structure and will this weekend host a training session aimed at attracting new members to the set-up, whether novices in the game or experienced players wishing to re-start playing rugby.

The session will be held at The Stute on Sunday (24th) from 10am until noon, and afterwards coaching staff will be on hand in the clubhouse for informal chats regarding the new Colts structure and the forthcoming season.

Colts Manager Stuart Crampton said: “We currently have a great mix of lads ready to play Colts rugby, however we don’t have many players from the immediate Ilkeston area.

“This is a great opportunity for lads from the local area to come down and try their hand at rugby in a relaxed training session.

“Two of our current players, Elliott Gwynne and Josh Meakin, have both played representative rugby at U20 age group this year for the Notts, Lincs & Derbyshire Team.”

The Colts will play mixed age group rugby (16-19 years) as they continue their sporting development towards full senior grade rugby.
