Trinity ABC stars Kyle Hughes, Sam Bates and Sam Patchitt will headline what is looking to be one of the club’s most exciting shows in years next month.

The ever-improving Trinity trio will all face tough challenges when they take to the ring at the Festival Inn, Trowell on Friday, March 20.

Club captain Hughes is set to resume hostilities with Chesterfield hard man Josh Sears when he challenges for the Derbyshire challenge belt at middleweight.

Sears took the close decision when the pair met for this belt a year ago, but Hughes left a big impression on the Spire boxer when catching him with big punches, bringing two standing counts, and left the ring feeling he should already own this belt.

This time the Trinity man, who is in outstanding form having won his last four fights, is even more determined and will leave nothing in the gym as he prepares for what could be his biggest challenge to date.

Trinity fans can expect more outstanding action when light heavyweight Bates challenges Nottingham boxer Derek Mutsunge for his Central England belt.

Bates is improving rapidly and will be looking forwards to showing the local fans what he as to offer after dedicating himself to this challenge.

National welterweight development champion Patchitt completes the Trinity trio when he defends his light middleweight Derbyshire challenge belt.

Patchitt took his belt in style at the last Trinity iPro Stadium promotion and will be determined to keep hold of it in his first outing since winning his national title. He will face David Kelly of the South Derbyshire Boxing Academy of Swadlincote, a big test given Kelly has only one defeat in his 15 fights so far.

Trinity coach Scott Rafferty said: “The boxers are all looking forward to a big support from the Ilkeston boxing fans which may be vital in giving them the edge as they dig deep to bring out their best.”

Tickets for this event, which will include a full card of Trinity boxers, are now on sale. Adult tickets cost £15, under-16s £5. Boxing will start at approximately 8.15pm. Contact Scott Rafferty for ticket information on 079 5656 5582.
