Trinity ABC’s Jake Harrison scored a convincing win in Scunthorpe on Saturday to move into the East Midland Elite Championship super heavyweight final.
Harrison faced former opponent Karolis Baubkus of Kettering Boxing Club and completed a winning double in impressive fashion.
Harrison gradually wore down his Lithuanian opponent, increasing power and intensity as the bout progressed.
In the third round the Trinity man was already in control and delivered shuddering power punches that caused the referee to issue two standing counts.
Baubkus bravely made it to the final bell but the Trinity star was a clear unanimous points winner, the scores being 30-25, 30-26, 30-25.
Harrison will now face another Eastern European opponent in the final when he takes on Przemyslaw Pozniak of Newark Boxing Academy.
The tall Polish boxer won the national novice championship earlier this season and is sure to be a big test for Harrison, but the Trinity man will enter the ring confident after this latest dominant performance.
The finals are due to be held at the Festival Inn, Trowell this Sunday (6th) alongside the Derbyshire elite team match against the Northern All stars. Action starts at 1pm with entry available from 12.30pm .
Admission is £10 on the door, £5 for under 16.
