MATCH PREVIEW: Ilkeston FC v Halesowen Town

Ilkeston will be looking for quick revenge when they face Halesowen Town on Saturday, having only lost to the Yeltz a fortnight ago.

The 2-0 win for the West Midlands side on March 5 was one of five games in a row that Ilkeston have lost in the league, although the Robins come into this game off the back of a 2-0 League Cup quarter-final win against Kidsgrove Athletic on Wednesday night.

Halesowen then followed up that success with an even more impressive one, a 1-0 win at league leaders Blyth Spartans last Saturday thanks to Tyree Clarke’s first-half goal.

They didn’t fare quite as well against another promotion-hopeful on Tuesday as Salford City won 1-0 at the Grove, but they will fancy their chances against an Ilkeston side badly in need of a morale-boosting league win.

Both sides look to be safe from relegation as well as not able to make the play-offs, so a mid-table battle will be in store, but Ilkeston’s youthful side remain of great interest to fans far and wide with new faces again set to appear in the Robins squad - Roy Lee and Max Thornberry potential league debutants.

The Robins’ last league outing was the 3-0 defeat to Workington last weekend. The match report for that game is HERE
