Ilkeston will travel to face a team that knows where the goal is this weekend as they prepare to play Nantwich Town.

The Dabbers, who lie sixth in the table, have scored 66 times in the Evo-Stik Premier Division this season, that’s more than any other team, and on Tuesday night ran out 5-0 winners against National League North side Bradford Park Avenue to reach the third round of the FA Trophy.

They were, however, also favourites to beat the Robins back in October when they visited the New Manor Ground, but Ilkeston, then under the tutelage of Gavin Strachan, won 3-1 in the first game of what would be a long unbeaten run.

Nantwich’s home form remains impressive - they have only lost three times at the Weaver Stadium this season - with Ilkeston only having won four times on the road this season, the latest being a 2-0 success at Sutton Coldfield Town last weekend on the same day as Nantwich losing at home to leaders Blyth Spartans thanks to a goal six minutes from time.

And Monday’s 2-0 defeat at home to Frickley will mean Ilkeston are looking to bounce back in style against a side on the crest of a wave following Tuesday’s impressive win.
