Middleweight prospect Dean Hill got a timely boost ahead of his first appearance on a Trinity ABC show this week when being named as the club’s Boxer of the Month for February.
Dean, 26, has been preparing for his home debut for the past few months and recently made his debut in Nottingham.
Despite a disappointing injury defeat Hill has remained positive and carried on his preparations for this Friday’s (March 25) Trinity show and has been a driving force behind the preparations of his club mates.
Club leader Scott Rafferty said: “Despite his disappointment at having to retire with an eye injury when in command of his debut contest he was able to see the bigger picture and continue in his preparation.
“Dean has developed well as a boxer and his enthusiasm as been a major factor as he as encouraged his club mates to rise to what is a big occasion for the whole club.
“He is a leader in the gym and his dedication and enthusiasm as been an example to all his club mates despite his limited experience,
“I hope now he can gain the reward in the ring his efforts have deserved but he deserves the Boxer of the Month award.”
Dean will face Barnsley prospect Lee Clayton in the eagerly-anticipated show at the Festival Inn, Trowell, on Friday.
A limited number of tickets are still available for this event which will feature some of Trinity’s outstanding talent facing top opposition from around the country.
