Trinity ABC welterweight star Sam Patchitt as been honoured by the East Midland Region of England Boxing in recognition of his national title earlier in the season.
Patchitt dominated as he fought his way to the 69kg title in the National Development Championships, winning six bouts in the space of four weeks against tough opposition.
His remarkable run included taking the unbeaten record of his opponents at the quarter-final, semi-final and final stage of the championship.
Patchitt’s opponent in the final stood at 14 bouts undefeated as both boxers entered the ring for their title decider in Sunderland back in November but he was on the canvas inside the first minute as Patchitt dominated to take another national title for the Ilkeston club.
Patchitt said: “It is great to be recognised by the region you represent.
“I feel now I have a true record of my achievement of which I am very proud.
“I would like to thank the region for making the effort to recognise my success.”
Patchitt received an official letter of congratulations and a financial reward to help with future training expenses.
Ilkeston boxing fans will get a chance to see the Trinity stars in action on their next promotion at the Festival Inn , Trowell on Friday 20th March.
A full programme of boxing featuring a Trinity boxer in each of the 12 bouts will be eagerly contested with boxers from around the country.
Two Central England belt bouts will be contested on what looks set to be an enthralling night’s entertainment.
Tickets are now on sale costing £15 for adults and £5 for under 16s.
