Anyone logging on to see how the Robins fared today against Stocksbridge Park Steels will be disappointed to hear that the game didn’t go ahead.
Ilkeston’s Evo-Stik Northern Premier League match versus Stocksbridge Park Steels was called off due to a waterlogged pitch.
According to a statement posted on the club’s website, The New Manor Ground pitch ‘was carrying heavy surface water due to the midweeks wet weather’. The plug was pulled on the clash by match officials.
Next up for the Robins is a trip to Droylsden FC next week in Evo-Stik Northern Premier.
Also on the club’s website, manager Kevin Wilson said: “We are all disappointed we had to call today’s game off.
“It was a good chance to re-write the wrongs of last week and bounce back from our gutting defeat at King’s Lynn.
“But now we need to look ahead to Droylsden and focus on picking up our first three points of the year.”
