Sandiacre Town are within touching distance of the Derbyshire Premier League title after overcoming Dunstall on Saturday.
Town are now 17 points clear of Swarkestone and should wrap up the championship in this weekend’s double-header against Lullington Park and then Spondon.
Hosts Dunstall batted first on Saturday and proved tough nuts for Sandiacre to crack.
Opener Tom Mandleberg went cheaply, but James Benstead and Karl Turner held firm with a stand of 123 before the former fell to James Chapman on 75.
Chapman then saw off Turner for 62, and from that point Dunstall struggled, eventually all out for 207. John Jordison took 3-53, Chapman 2-27, Dan Wheeldon 2-59 and Ryan McFadyean 1-28.
Chapman was then the catalyst to the win as his unbeaten 79 helped secure victory.
Useful knocks from Charlie Ault (29), Ollie Swann (21), Chesney Hughes (29) and Wheeldon (27) aided the opener and Sandiacre passed their target in the 42nd over.
l A fine weekend was then completed on Sunday as Sandiacre thrashed Ticknall to win the Derbyshire Premier Cup.
They bowled Tickall out for just 63, McFadyean with 4-12 and Chapman 3-5, before passing the total inside 12 overs in reply and securing the cup in style.
