West Hallam White Rose secured the Division Four North title in style at the weekend - not losing a wicket in either of their victories.
The wins also completed an unbeaten season and left second-placed Heanor trailing by 35 points.
At Ilkeston Rutland on Saturday skipper Tom Lockhart won the toss and elected to field.
That proved a good decision as early wickets from Peter Hort got things started well.
But Ian Banks came in and made a fine 77 and, assisted by a superb unbeaten century from Chris Palfreyman, helped Ilkeston to a total of 206, Hort ending with 6 for 35.
Remarkably, Hallam knocked off the total without losing a wicket, as Thomas Brandrick (122) and Tim Hampton-Matehe (69) produced a stunning partnership to seal the victory which confirmed the title was West Hallam’s.
Sunday’s match with Pilsley ended the season in a party atmosphere.
Batting first, Pilsley made 156 with Saeem Bin Nasir top scorere on 78 and Tom Lockhart the pick of the bowlers with 5 for 27.
Once again, the target was knocked off with the minimum of fuss.
This time, Brandrick elisted the help of Matt Tatler (30) and earned his second century of the weekend to round off the season in spectacular style.
