Academy graduate Tyrell Waite has re-joined Ilkeston FC on-loan from Notts County and will go straight into action today when Rushall Olympic are the visitors to the New Manor Ground.
Kevin Wilson confirmed that Waite will “be involved” and the Robins manager is backing the talented young striker to use this spell to boost his career.
He explained: “I’m delighted to have Tyrell back, even though it’s only a temporary thing, and I think it’s a move that’s good for him as well as us.
“He seems to have lost his way a bit but I still believe he has what it takes to become a regular player in the Football League. It takes time to adjust when you make the step up but I think with him there’s a lot of untapped potential.
“It might be that he has to go backwards in order to come forward and if coming back to Ilkeston FC and the surroundings and people that he knows so well proves to be beneficial, I’ll be delighted.
“He did very well last season when he came in at a time when we needed a lift and hopefully he can continue where he left off.
“Having Tyrell here will give us options. He can play up top if that’s where we want to use him and also in either of the other two attacking roles.
“He’s a footballer, who will immediately fit in with the way we like to do things, and he gets on well with the other lads. There’s not a lot that I don’t know about Tyrell and hopefully we can bring out the best in him.”
Waite has already spent time on loan with Conference Premier side Nuneaton Town this season.
