Almost 900 Facebook fans have voted for legendary 70s musical Grease to be shown at Intu Derby’s highly anticipated first drive-in movie night on Friday, August 1.
The centre will transform the top floor of its car park (level seven) into an open-air cinema, inviting film fans to sport their best fancy dress and be stranded at the drive-in as they dance and sing along to soundtrack hits including Greased Lightning and Summer Nights.
Intu Derby has partnered with arts centre, Quad who will be providing the big screen for the event.
Tania Vesty, marketing manager at intu Derby commented: “We’re really excited about our first drive-in movie and are thrilled that so many people have taken to our Facebook page to cast their votes.
“Grease is a timeless film that appeals to viewers of all ages, and we look forward to welcoming plenty of T-Birds and Pink Ladies to the drive-in to sing along with us! Due to the huge amount of interest we’ve already had in this event we’d encourage those interested in attending to purchase their tickets early to avoid disappointment.”
Tickets for the event will cost £10 per car (maximum four people per car) with all money from the sale of tickets being donated to intu Derby’s charity. The tickets will go on sale from intu Derby’s customer service desk soon – those interested in attending can visit the Intu Derby website for further updates at http://intu.co.uk/derby
Gates will open at 6pm, with the movie anticipated to start at 9pm.
