Derbyshire has a proud tradition of theatre and what better way to mark World Theatre Day than by going to see a musical or a play?
Dreamboats and Petticoats - The Musical is opening at Chesterfield’s Winding Wheel tonight (March 27) as part of a nationwide tour.
In the county’s capital, Harold Pinter’s Betrayal enters its final week at Derby Theatre.
World Theatre Day was launched on March 27, 1962 by the International Theatre Institute and has been marked by professionals, organisations, universities and theatre fans around the globe.
This day is a celebration for those who can see the value and importance of the art form “theatre”, and acts as a wake-up-call for governments, politicians and institutions which have not yet recognised its value to the people and who have not yet realised its potential for economic growth.
