Angelic sounds in concert


Upbeat, soulful and exquisite are just some of the words used to describe ARKangel’s sophisticated performances.

The much acclaimed duo are playing an evening of light jazz classics at Cromford Mills on Friday, September 6.

Catherine Roth, events officer for the Arkwright Society, said: “Cromford Mills is a wonderful venue and very atmospheric for musical evenings.

“We are especially delighted to have ARKangel with us to introduce a jazz element to our expanding musical events programme.”

ARKangel’s performance starts at 7.30pm and advance booking is recommended for interested parties to avoid disappointment.

Tickets for the performance cost £10 per person.

n Derbyshire Wildlife Trust is launching a new nature club for pre-school children at Carsington Water for the new term.

Nature Tots, aimed at accompanied pre-schoolers aged three and over, will meet at the Trust’s Wildlife Discovery Room at the Visitor Centre and use the newly-created outdoor classroom to explore nature.

The group will meet once a month and all are welcome.

The first session is on Monday, September 9, and the theme for the session is Peek in our Pond.

Come and discover the creatures lurking in the outdoor classroom’s ponds and make your very own dragonfly to take home.

Nature Tots runs from 10am-11.30am and costs £3 per child.

Places for Nature Tots are limited, so please book in advance.
