LOCAL band Dreaded Monkey has organised a second Bands Wanted night at Holy Trinity Church Hall in Kimberley, following on from the success of the first event.
The first get-together was held to raise funds for the church and also to give a platform for a range of local bands to get up on stage and play in front of a supportive audience.
The second Bands Wanted gig is on March 5 with Dreaded Monkey – made up of members from Kimberley, Ripley, Ilkeston and Arnold – playing alongside local bands Never The Last Breath, Blood Orange and Let’s Go Sunday.
Bands looking to take part in future events are asked to contact Dreaded Monkey at firstname.lastname@example.org
The doors open at 6.30pm, the music starts at 7pm and there is a charge of £2 on the door. Soft drinks will be available.
Meanwhile, the band will once again be taking part in the Surface Festival after a good showing in last year’s competition where Dreaded Monkey made it to the last 52 out of 1,200 bands.
The festival is a huge nationwide battle of the bands contenst with all groups competing for the grand prize and the recognition it brings. The first heat is being held at The Central in Nottingham on March 13 and the lads have a limited number of tickets avaliable, priced at £6 each.
