The Divas will be coming to Belper later this month when an award-winning ladies’ choir performs at a venue in the town.

The choir in question is DaleDiva, made up of ladies from across the Dales and Amber Valley.

They will bring their delightful harmonies to the idyllic setting of Christ Church, Belper, on Friday, April 26.

Formed in the autumn of 2007 the Divas have made several appearances on TV and radio shows, including BBC Radio 3’s Choir of the Year, and, most famously, Channel 5’s Don’t Stop Believing, which they won in 2010 against stiff nationwide competition.

Countless radio appearances have brought them into the public eye throughout the country and they are having a very busy schedule of appearances for 2013, on the back of the release of their third album - Sing It! Ring It! Bling It! - late last year.

Musical director Ally Law explained: “Starting DaleDiva has been one of the highlights of my life so far.

“I’ve learnt so much from this fabulous group of women and their hard work and dedication motivates me to be the best director I can be for them.

“I love the fact that I’m able to empower women with confidence and a new ‘Diva’ attitude. I’m so proud of the way we improve, the experiences we share and of friendships that will last a lifetime.”

She added: “DaleDiva is all about us all sharing the journey - and I don’t ever want it to end.”

DaleDiva’s varied and adventurous arrangements of songs never cease to amaze their rapidly growing numbers of fans and their vibrant performances are a joy to see.

They were memorable winners of Don’t Stop Believing, beating the challenge from other choirs from right across the country.

Tickets are £12, available from the Ticket Hotline on 01773 853428.
