Howard is ready to entertain

Belper &District Organ And Keyboard Club is to hold its latest concert on Saturday, April 20, at 7.30pm.

The venue will be The Congregational Church,Green Lane ,Belper, and the concert is to be given by ‘Mr Scarborough’ himself, Howard Beaumont.

Yamaha artiste and resident organist at The Spa Sun Court Scarborough, Howard Beaumont will be making a welcome return to Belper, playing a selection of music for all on the very latest Yamaha Tyros instruments.

Admission is for members £5 and £7 for non-members, including refreshments.

n On Friday, April 19, the local group The Heartless Tarts will star in a concert which marks the launch of their new CD.

They have taken the opportunity to raise much-needed funds for their chosen charities, Ashgate Hospice and Action for Children.

The HeartlessTarts consist of Alison Green, Helen Boyce, Annie McClimont and Gwenna Carless, all of whom are members of the prestigious Fishpond Choir.

Singing mainly traditional folk songs, their voices blend beautifully in unaccompanied three/four part harmony.

The concert, which promises to be a feast of music for fans of folk, starts at 7.30pm in the Florence Nightingale Memorial Hall, Holloway.

There will be a raffle and collection to raise money for the charities.

n The Shaydes will be performing at Uppertown Social Centre, near Ashover, on SaturdayApril 20, with their special vocal harmonies mixing a cappella, acoustic and pop.

The Shaydes’ shows utilise their ability and talent for comedy and improvisation and they have over 60 songs currently in their repertoire, covering many styles.
