Come and listen to a short concert of lovely music that will not only make you smile, but could be the perfect antidote to a day spent shopping.
Puccini’s Messa di Gloria and two of Verdi’s Four Sacred Pieces will be performed at 4.30pm in The Nottingham Girls’ High School on Saturday March 22.
Tickets will cost £5, and will be sold at the door from 4pm.
There is ample parking and public transport available, or you can take a stroll through the Arboretum to reach the venue.
The concert is the culmination of a workshop day led by Richard Laing, music director of Nottingham Harmonic Choir, with support from pianist Philip Robinson and soloist Roberto Garcia-Lopez.
n Derby Concert Orchestra’s next concert is to take place on Saturday, May 17, at St Mary’s Church in Wirksworth.
The concert, to be conducted by Jonathan Trout, will features performances of four works.
They are Smetana’s Bartered Bride Overture, Butterworth’s A Shropshire Lad Rhapsody, Rachmaninov’s Rhapsody On A Theme Of Paganini, and finally Elgar’s Enigma Variations.
