Peter Mulvey is to play a gig at The Queen’s Head in Belper on Saturday, March 29, with doors opening at 8.15pm.
Hailing from Milwaukee, Peter Mulvey has pursued an extraordinary career. From busking on the streets of Dublin to the subways of Boston, a vibrant scene which also threw up another Queen’s Head favourite in the shape of David Rovics, Peter learned his craft the hard way.
Years later, his dynamic guitar work and resonant vocals have built a global audience and a series of remarkable records, one of which was actually recorded live in a Boston subway. Part of what he calls his ‘hands-dirty ‘approach, Mulvey’s music captures a raw intensity combined with astonishing diversity.
However, as well as performing and recording, he has also written for the stage including work for the great Sam Shepard and other noted playwrights. Along with his co-writer and guitarist, David Goodrich, Peter Mulvey produces music with deep Americana roots and quirky individuality.
Admission to see him is £7.
