Darley Dale Cricket Club’s programme of band concerts this summer has again proved a success, despite some mixed weather on the Sunday evenings.
The programme of ten concerts comes to an end on Sunday, September 2, with the visit of Shirland Brass Band and the concert starts at 7pm.
Refeshments and a barbecue are available and entry to the ground is free with plenty of car parking available.
One of the most successful concerts was the visit of the Darley Dale Band on July 15 when, on a beautiful evening, the band played to the biggest audience of the year.
As a result, the club received a message from the Matlock Hospitals League of Friends Committee which said: “Please accept our thanks for the Brass Band concert on July 15.I t had been a difficult year for the League with the closure of The Darley Birth Centre but the event shows that there is considerable support for local healthcare facilities. A total of £533 was raised for The Matlock Hospitals League of Friends with all money donated used to help The Whitworth Hospital and Orchard Cottage.”
