Get ready for an explosive and exciting dance experience at The Grand Pavilion in Matlock Bath later this month.
Explosion, the all-new flamenco fusion show, is touring the UK and can be seen at the popular local venue on Saturday, April 25.
Brought to the UK by Dance Evolution Ltd, Compañia de Flamenco is presenting highly rated choreographer and dancer Jay Markwick’s colourful show at venues across the UK.
Historically, flamenco is not a dance normally shown outside Spain. However, once some of the world’s most renowned theatre directors saw the young Essex-born Jay Markwick’s talent, the show found itself alongside Thriller Live in London’s West End, as well as other leading theatres across the country.
Explosion starts by presenting traditional flamenco at its very best as the company play, sing and dance everything from bulerias to farrucas to tangos.
The show, which is strongly influenced by ballet, includes a strong story of love and passion.
Explosion is a unique fusion of various dance styles, featuring male and female leads, five soloists and a company of 15.
Jay Markwick’s show explodes with an intense colour and vibrancy that tells a love story through a sensual, fun and exciting combination of passion, strength and speed.
This is a spectacular, modern theatre production for dance fans that promises to delight multi-age audiences across the UK, including those attending The Grand Pavilion on April 25.
Tickets are £15 in advance, £17.50 on the door. They are available from the Mining Museum at the Grand Pavilion (tel 01629 583834), Cromford Post Office, Matlock Music Shop. For more details, see www.thegrandpavilion.co.uk
The Grand Pavilion is a registered charity which bought the building from Derbyshire Dales District Council in August 2013 and runs music, theatre, markets and private events to raise funds for repairing, maintaining, preserving and restoring the building. The long-term aim when fully restored is to be the largest theatre, live music venue and community space in Derbyshire Dales. At the moment it remains, ‘a Little Bit Scruffy’ but weatherproof, open for business and professionally run.
We are offering a great competition for this performance with two fantastic prizes up for grabs of a pair of VIP tickets plus a backstage pass to meet Jay and the dancers for photos and autographs.
