The initiative, which ran from Monday to Wednesday each week, offered 50 per cent off food with a maximum reduction of £10 per person.
Meals had to be ‘eaten in’ rather than taken away, and businesses claimed the discounted sum back from HMRC.
Many places in Sheffield extended Eat Out to Help Out – or ran similar deals – at their own expense throughout September, and the same is happening in October.
