Drama, dance nights, concert and comedy provide a rich season of entertainment at Chesterfield theatres.

Highlights at the Pomegranate Theatre include the return of the Agatha Christie thriller The Mousetrap starring 
Louise Jameson, the new play Shafted! starring its writer John Godber, and Northern Ballet’s family show Tortoise and the Hare.

Productions of We’re Going on a Bear Hunt and The Gruffalo’s Child are designed for young theatregoers.

The drama offerings will launch this month with the Spring Play Season featuring presentations by Pomegranate favourites Tabs Productions and Rumpus Theatre Company.

At the Winding Wheel, the hit Andrew Lloyd Webber musical Tell Me on a Sunday stars Jodie Prenger.

American singing legend Chubby Checker heads the star names in concert which include Gerry & The Pacemakers, The Fureys and Paul Carrack.

Comedians Gary Delaney, Fascinating Aida’s Dillie Keane, Lee Nelson and Romesh Ranganathan will contribute to mirth-filled nights at the Winding Wheel.

Entertainers lined up for the venue’s own Spotlight Comedy Club shows include Matt Richardson from TV’s Celebrity Juice and Never Mind The Buzzcocks and Charlie Chuck of The Smell of Reeves and Mortimer fame.

Films continue to play a big part in the programme at the Pomegranate. Attractions on the big screen range from Steve Jobs, Spectre and Star Wars: The Force Awakens to The Lady in the Van and Carol .

Satellite broadcasts include the Royal Opera’s presentation of La Traviata, National Theatre’s adaptation of As You Like It and the RSC’s presentation of Hamlet.

Amateur companies in Chesterfield will showcase drama, music and dance at the Pomegranate. Directions 
Theatre Arts will stage the musicals Our House and The 
Addams Family, the latter with Inspirations Theatre Company. Chesterfield Operatic Society will produce full-length musical Jesus Christ Superstar. Students from The Academy of Dance will display their fancy footwork in Lights, Camera, Action!
