Twenty per cent of all grades achieved by S. Anselm’s pupils were at grade 9, with 38 per cent passing at Level 8 and above and 60 per cent passing at Level 7 and above.
Headteacher Frank Thompson said: “I am very proud of the superb results our pupils have achieved this year and delighted that they will be going on to both top local sixth form colleges and leading independent schools for advanced studies, such as Manchester Grammar School, JCB Academy and Repton.

Nationally, the GCSE pass rate in England has increased to 79 per cent from 70 per cent.
