Venues across Chesterfield and north Derbyshire have been reported being very busy as people make the most of the good April weather to get out and visit a pub for the first time in months.
Outdoor hospitality reopened on April 12 as part of the next step in the easing of Covid-19 lockdown restrictions.
Police upped the number of officers on duty in Derbyshire over the weekend in preparation for pubs reopening – but officers have praised residents for behaving ‘responsibly’.
There were no ‘significant’ incidents over the first reopening weekend according to police, who applauded people and hospitality businesses for enjoying the sunny weather responsibly.
