You could grab yourself a piece of literary history as the hall, which inspired Jane Eyre, has been put on the market.

Moorseats Hall in Hathersage dates back to the 1300’s and once played host to Charlotte Bronte, who used it as an inspiration for Jane Eyre, including naming her heroine after the owners of the hall at the time.

This six-bedroom historic hall, which will set you back £3m, is also set to impress new visitors with a collection of luxurious additions.

Including, a tennis court, heated swimming pool, staff flat and helicopter pad.

A spokeswoman from Eadon Lockwood & Riddle, which is marketing the hall said: “The home, whilst large, including a staff flat, it is very livable and has a homely feel; it has been extensively remodelled by the present owners who have extended the accommodation as well as installing a tennis court and heated swimming pool.

“All of which over look the 25 plus acres belonging to the hall. Whilst being remote, it is just above the much vaunted Hathersage Village with its train station with regular services to Manchester and Sheffield city centres.”
