“He’s a very happy little lad and me, my partner, Michael, and his big brother, Tommy-Ray, absolutely dote on him.”

Maryanne, 23, of Wateringbury Grove, Staveley, added: “She’s absolutely gorgeous and beautiful. She’s a little angel and welcoming her was the best possible start to 2014.

“Her big brother, Cory, is already very protective of her – it’s very sweet.”

Meanwhile little Lacey Clements was born at 6.38pm. Her mum, Lisa, 32, of Spa Croft Tibshelf, said: “She’s a very happy and content little girl.

“She was due on New Year’s Eve but came a day later so there were many reasons to celebrate on New Year’s Day.” She added her partner, Steve, was enjoying fatherhood.
