Boy,9, hit by car outside Matlock school

A nine-year-old boy was left with a fractured foot after being hit by a car outside a Matlock school this morning (Friday, March 13).

The boy is believed to have been in collision with a Seat Leon outside All Saints Junior School, in Hurds Hollow, at about 8.50am.

Police and ambulance services were on scene, however no arrests were made.

The youngster, from Matlock, was taken to Whitworth Hospital for treatment of the injury.

Head teacher Hazel Henson said: “A nine-year-old pupil was in collision with a car as they crossed the road outside school this morning.

“Thankfully, the child involved suffered only minor injuries and is recovering well.”

Enquiries into the incident are currently ongoing.
