Derbyshire police dog helps hunt down suspected drugs trafficking van

Mya, who works as a dedicated police dog for the force, helped Derbyshire Road Crime Unit in recovering a large amount of cash which was found inside a van that was suspected of drug trafficking in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.
Officers were initially alerted to the suspicious looking vehicle after it travelled past traffic police and triggered their Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR).

Hide AdAfter police dog Mya who was ‘on hand as always’ joined in the search of the white van, officers then arrested two people for money laundering and immigration offences who were then remanded into custody.
Residents praised the canine for helping police make the arrest, with one social media user tweeting: “Well done Mya Stay safe and thank you for all you do to keep us safe #Clevergirl.”
