Officers were called to the Killamarsh area yesterday after they received reports of a driver doing handbrake turns into junctions, driving erratically and knocking over wheelie bins.

Police located the motorist who was driving a Ford Focus when they arrived at the scene and arrested him after they claim he refused to provide a breath sample.

His car has also been seized.

In a post on Facebook, the Killamarsh and Eckington Safer Neighbourhood Team said: “We had a few struggles on the way down to custody in which we had to stop the police vehicle and get the driver out the back to calm him down.

"Apologies for the traffic caused whilst we was dealing with this.

“He then had his car seized so he won’t be having any more fun with wheelie bins to reassure the residents of Killamarsh.

“Keep safe.”
