How police will patrol Peak District as people warned ‘don’t visit’ over sunny weekend

The county’s Roads Policing Unit (RPU) tweeted a picture of one of their vehicles in an otherwise empty car park in Edale to make their point this morning.
Officers tweeted: “A full complement of RPU out this weekend to keep the roads safe and support our divisional colleagues.

Hide Ad“Please for the sake of our rural communities, exercise locally and avoid unnecessary travel. Empty car parks like this one at Edale is what we need.”
Under Government regulations to prevent the spread of Covid-19, people should only go out when absolutely necessary for food, medicine, work or exercise, always try to stay two metres apart and not meet others outside their household, even friends and family.
According to the Met Office, temperatures in parts of Derbyshire could reach nearly 20C on Sunday.
