Officers have taken a dog from its Derbyshire owner due to concerns over her living conditions – with the pet set to move into another home.

Over the last few months, PC Hussain from the Matlock Safer Neighbourhood Team has been working in partnership with the RSPCA, responding to calls regarding concerns for Scrappy and her living conditions.

An SNT spokesperson said: “On Monday, May 15, after a warrant was granted by the courts, Scrappy was removed under the animal welfare act and will now be rehomed.

“We will continue to work with partners to resolve concerns reported to us.”

The SNT confirmed that a new home is already waiting for Scrappy after her removal.
