Police found cannabis plants in the bedroom of a Chesterfield home after a raid on the property.

Officers from Staveley, Newbold and Chesterfield police teams executed a misuse of drugs warrant at the address on Edale Road, Mastin Moor, Chesterfield.

They discovered cannabis cultivation in a bedroom at the property, with 18 plants and hundreds of pounds worth of equipment seized and destroyed.

A 33-year-old man, who was found in the property on September 2, was arrested on suspicion of production of cannabis and has since been released under investigation.

A Derbyshire police spokesperson said: “We are committed to continue to engage with our local residents and act on any information they provide, in order to crack down on criminality in their communities and bring those offenders to justice.”
