Shop worker attacked during terrifying raid on Chesterfield Tesco store

Police are appealing for help after a shop worker was assaulted during a robbery at a Chesterfield supermarket.

Officers say the robbery took place at Tesco Express, on High Street, Old Whittington, last night (Tuesday, September 8) at 11.25pm.

Staveley Police Safer Neighbourhood Team said: “Staff members have locked up the store and while in the car park an unknown male has ran at and assaulted one female staff member, who he pushes to the floor, causing injuries and makes off on foot with her handbag.

"The offender is described as being a white male, 5ft ins in height, wearing a black leather jacket, blue jeans, dark beanie hat, possibly navy. Aged approximately 40 years, with teeth missing from his mouth.

“The offender made off along High Street past Whittington Green School and onto Oak Bank Avenue.”
