Firefighters are tackling a blaze at an address near Chesterfield – with the emergency services response leading to a road closure ahead of rush hour.

Derbyshire Police have confirmed that Chesterfield Road at Holmewood is currently closed while emergency services attend a fire at a property.

Drivers were urged to avoid the area, find alternative routes and allow for extra time for any journeys.

Traffic monitoring site Inrix has reported that congestion is building in the area as a result of the road closure.
