Grant secures vital repairs

Vital repair work has begun on a Swanwick church following a £5,000 grant from the National Churches Trust.

St. Andrew’s Church will benefit from high level repairs to external pointing and associated works.

Work began this week and will continue for six weeks.

During this time the church will be under repair and the clock chimes will cease in order to protect those working close to the bells.

The church will be open for services as usual whilst work is in progress.

Parachuting teddy bears will add their support during two days of harvest celebrations. On October 3 the church will be from 10am to 4pm for visitors to view the harvest decorations and teddy bear trail. From 7pm community choir Amber Valley Voices perform with the Matlock Dale Woodwind Quintet. On October 4, brave teddy bears parachute from the church tower from 2pm. Call 01773 605291 for details.
