Investigation underway after Heanor house fire

Firefighters from Heanor and Ilkeston were called to Loscoe Road at about 7pm last night.

Upon arrival, they found a fire in a first-floor bedroom.

Crews tackled the blaze while volunteers from the Red Cross supported the homeowners.

There were no reports of any injuries.

Police were called to help with traffic control as the main road between Heanor and Loscoe was blocked.

A spokesman for Derbyshire fire service said an investigation into the cause of the blaze had been launched.
