MATLOCK: Men in court over knife-related incidents

Two men have appeared in court charged with two knife-related incidents in Matlock.

Tom Stones, 18, of Jackson Tor Road, Matlock, was charged with wounding with intent in connection with an attack on a 28-year-old man near Hall Leys Park, in Causeway Lane, on Saturday.

In addition, he was charged with possession of a knife and with causing actual bodily harm after a 26-year-old man was assaulted in the park on August 3. He suffered a cut to his arm.

Harry Stones, 20, of Manor Oaks Gardens, Sheffield, has been charged with causing actual bodily harm to the 26-year-old and having an offensive weapon in public.

The pair appeared before magistrates in Chesterfield on Thursday. They have been remanded in custody and will appear at Derby Crown Court on August 29.
