The event, which was held at Castleton visitor centre on August 4, was organised by the Peak District National Park Authority visitor services team, celebrated the Peak District’s beautiful countryside, fascinating history and wildlife, and gave people the chance to discover opportunities for outdoor recreation.

Acting Head of Field Services Andy Farmer said: “National Parks Week events are a great way of introducing families to getting outdoors to enjoy the national park and try something new.”

The celebration was also attended by disgruntled vehicle users, who are angry at a decision by the authority to ban them from a Peak green lane.
