We asked our readers for their opinions about the new Cadbury Creme Egg advert which shows an LGBTQIA+ couple sharing a chocolate treat.

The advert has received mixed reviews online, with audiences split between praising the confectionery company and those who felt it was too steamy for day time TV.

Reader Lisa Stoker said: “In 2021 it should be as normal as if it were anyone else.”

Ian Smith agrees, he said: “It's an ad in 2021 anyone who gets offended by it needs to sit down in front of a mirror and asks themselves some serious questions.”

But most of our readers were not concerned over the content of the advert but instead were enraged that anybody would share the chocolate treat.

Judi Davis said: “I can't believe there's anyone out there still eating Creme Eggs.

"Since Cadbury sold out and changed the chocolate recipe I've not bought anything from them”

David Zygmuntowski said: “Anybody who eats Creme Eggs knows they are not for sharing.”

Mel Bacon said: “I dont buy them as they are small, overpriced and don’t taste the same as before.”

One reader Dawn Kerry was annoyed that the advert has come out so early in the year.
