And he is now looking for trays from three old Chesterfield breweries – Chesterfield Brewery Co Ltd, Brampton Brewery Co Ltd and Scarsdale Brewery Co Ltd.

Chesterfield Brewery Co Ltd was once based on Tapton Lan and was acquired by the Mansfield rewery Co Ltd in 1934 with about 100 tied houses.

Richard says a a tray for the brewery definitely does exist – it its mainly orange and red in colour with the words ‘Chesterfield Brewery Co Prize Mild & Bitter Ales Chesterfield’ on it if anyone has one or knows where one is.

Brampton Brewery Co Ltd, which was once on Chatsworth Road in Brampton, was acquired by Warwicks & Richardsons Ltd in 1955 and owned 142 public houses.

Once again, a tray definitely existed from this brewery, including a blue one made to commemorate the coronation of King George VI in 1937.

Scarsdale Brewery Co Ltd, was the Spa Lane Brewery which was taken over by Whitbread & Co Ltd.

Richard is unsure if a tray was ever produced for this brewery but would love to hear from anyone who can help him further on this.
