Inquest held into death of young man from Chesterfield

Construction worker James Alton, 30, passed away at his home on Station Road, Brimington, on October 29 last year.
Mr Alton’s inquest took place at Chesterfield Coroner’s Court on Thursday.

Hide AdSarah Huntbach, assistant coroner, said: “He was experiencing depression and was receiving medication from his GP.
“He was also diagnosed with alcohol dependency and had self-referred to the Derbyshire Recovery Partnership.
“He had on previous occasions expressed intentions to take his own life.
“High levels of alcohol were found on toxicology analysis at post-mortem sufficient to impair James’s cognitive function.”
