Mr Stevenson had a history of substance misuse but had recently abstained – which the inquest heard may have reduced his tolerance to the substances he took.

"When he took the substances they enhanced the sedative effects of one another and caused the deceased to pass away,” the record of inquest says.

Assistant coroner Emma Serrano recorded a verdict that the cause of Mr Stevenson’s death had been drugs related.

The coroner passed on her condolences to Mr Stevenson’s family at the hearing, which was held at Chesterfield Town Hall.
