PICTURES: Police attend Chesterfield car park after Trump-inspired protest turns sour
The car park - which has until recently served the Five Pits Trail car park on Mansfield Road - had barriers erected round it last week.
As a result, the people who use it staged a protest this morning - but were interrupted after a man took offence and tore down their flags.

Hide AdProtestor, Dave Morley, said: “We’d brought an American flag and a Mexican flag with us and signs saying ‘build bridges not walls’.
“We think putting up a barrier on a well-used car park is crazy so we thought we’d protest by saying it was like Donald Trump’s wall with Mexico.
“Then a guy arrived and tore down our flags and ripped up our signs for no reason.
“After that Derbyshire County Council and three police cars arrived - they spoke to us but we weren’t doing anything wrong.

Hide AdDave says he can only assume the mystery man may have been one of the people whose complaints led to the car park’s closure.
After the barriers were erected last week, sand bags were also put down to stop people walking on to the trail at the site as well.
This has angered another car park user who says he relies on the car park due to his illness.
Leslie Silkstone says as a three time cancer sufferer he cannot walk too far and the woods at that spot are just the right distance from the car.
