Police release more details about crash in Chesterfield

Two women were taken to hospital after a crash in Chesterfield, police have revealed.

Officers told the Derbyshire Times they attended a collision between a Toyota Aygo and a Ford Transit Connect at the junction of Springfield Avenue and St Mark’s Road in the Brampton area of the town at 3.30pm on Sunday.

A Derbyshire Constabulary spokesperson said: “The driver and passenger of the Aygo were trapped in the car and were extricated by the fire service.

“The pair were taken to Chesterfield hospital where they were treated for minor injuries.

“The driver was a 50-year-old woman and the passenger was a 21-year-old woman.

“No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing into the incident,” the spokesperson added.

Following the crash, a spokesperson for Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Crews extricated two casualties who were left in the hands of East Midlands Ambulance Service.

“Crews made the scene safe and the incident was left with police.”
