Ripley based care worker praised for service

A dedicated carer is celebrating 14 years on the front line of a career she describes as deeply fulfilling.

Sue Wain, 48, works for leading home care provider Carewatch Derbyshire and visits customers in the Ripley area including elderly people and those with mental or physical disabilities.

She said: “For many Ripley residents home care is the fourth emergency service. I can wholeheartedly say I love my job. Carewatch provides round-the-clock support through its supervisors and provides excellent, continuous training. The hours are flexible, meaning my personal and professional lives run in harmony.”

Visiting new customers who do not feel comfortable with non-family care and support workers coming to their home can be challenging. However Carewatch matches customers with regular Care and Support Workers.

Branch Manager Rachel Contrino at Carewatch Derbyshire: “Sue is an outstanding employee and I congratulate her on 14 years. Care and Support Workers like her are our lifeblood and without them many would not be able to retain or regain independence.”
