Supermoon to light up Derbyshire’s sky TONIGHT
A Supermoon is to light up the late-summer night sky this evening.
Tonight’s full moon will be just 222,631 miles from earth – one of the closest approaches of the year – so it will appear very big and bright.
The moon is usually more than 238,000 miles from earth.
There should be clear spells for the celestial phenomenon, according to the Met Office – so don’t forget to look up!
Other Supermoons will occur on September 28 and October 27.
