New Road, near Alderwasley, was badly damaged after Storm Ciara battered the country on Sunday. Derbyshire County Council say the rain washed out the wall that holds the road up.
The damage is expected to keep the road closed until 3 March.
A diversion has now been put in place.

Hide AdA spokesperson for the Council said: “New Road, near Alderwasley, is closed as a retained wall collapsed due to heavy rain - the rain washed out the wall that holds the road up. The damage was caused by Storm Ciara on Sunday 9 February.
“We’d hope to start fixing the wall next week, weather dependent, and get the road re-open within a couple of weeks.
“A diversion is in place - B5035 to Wirksworth Moor, Wirksworth Road (Alderwasley), Chapel Hill and vice versa.”
