Shocking pictures of crash on M1 in Derbyshire show car flipped on its roof

Police have released pictures of a horror crash on the M1 in Derbyshire which left a car on its roof and a van on its side.

The accident occurred on the M1 southbound between Junction 28 and Junction 27 shortly before 10am yesterday, August 23.

The carriageway was closed following the crash with traffic officers, firefighters, police, paramedics and the air ambulance in attendance.

Posting pictures of the rescue operation on Twitter, Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit said those involved had suffered “serious but not life changing/threatening injuries”.
