Another successful day for Matlock CC in Broxtowe

Round 15 of the SRAM Notts & Derby CycloCross Leage took place at Nottingham’s Broxtowe Country Park on Saturday, promoted by Beeston Cycling Club.

Once again, the event proved a resounding success for Matlock Cycling Club, with riders of all ages doing particularly well and making this a great finale for the last NDCXL event of the season.

In the U9s race, Louis Swindell achieved second place for the U9 boys, with Holly Hoy in overall third place and once again achieving first position in the U9 girls category.

Team mate Harriet Limb once again made second place for the U9 girls. Ben Mellor and Sam Hadfield achieved seventh and tenth positions respectively for the U9 boys.

For the U12 girls, Matlock’s Amelie Wayte bagged first place with team mate Libby Smith just a couple of minutes behind behind in second place, and Elizabeth Webster coming fifth.

In the youth race, Will Gascoyne finished in first place overall in 21 minutes and 49 seconds.

Team mate Cameron Orr made ninth place for the U16 boys, John Webster achieved third place in the U14 boys category and Sara Gould came fourth in the U14 girls category.

Arthur Green consolidated his winning streak by once again finishing in first place in the Junior men’s category.

There was also success for Chris Green who came home first in the men’s V45 category, and for Martin Stocks, Chris Watts and Paul Dalton who finished fifth, sixth and seventh in the Men’s V50 category.

Matlock’s Christine Howard finished secod in the women’s veterans category.
